Anti-Wrinkle Injections in London: What They Cost and What to Expect

You catch your reflection in a shop window, and the frown line between your brows is the first thing you see. Or a friend asks if you’re tired when you feel perfectly fine. Most of the women who ask me about anti-wrinkle injections in London aren’t trying to look like someone else. They want to look like themselves on a good day.

If you’ve started comparing prices for anti-wrinkle injections in London, you’ve probably noticed they vary hugely, and so does the quality of the advice. This is what I want you to know before you book anywhere, including with me.

The price of anti-wrinkle injections in London is a starting point, not the whole story

At my practice at 10 Harley Street, anti-wrinkle injections start from £250 for forehead lines, frown lines and crow’s feet. Dermal fillers for cheeks, lips, jawline and tear troughs start from £350, as do skin boosters such as Profhilo. I also offer polynucleotide skin treatments, and I’ve written about how Profhilo and polynucleotides compare if you’re weighing those up too.

What you pay in the end depends on how many areas you’d like treated, how much product your muscles need, and whether treatment is right for you at all. That’s why every new patient starts with a consultation. It costs £300, includes a personalised treatment plan, and is redeemable against the cost of your treatment. (I know a consultation fee can feel like an extra hurdle, but it’s the part that protects your result!)

A very low price for anti-wrinkle injections in London is worth questioning. Correcting an uneven result costs far more, in money and in confidence, than getting it right the first time.

Because results last three to four months, it’s also worth thinking about the cost over a year, not just a single visit. Many people come back two or three times a year. We can plan the timing together so it suits you and your budget, and there is never any pressure to book the next one.

If you’d like more than one area treated, I’ll give you the full cost at your consultation before anything happens, so there are no surprises on the day.

A softer look, not a frozen face

Expression lines form because the muscles underneath them move thousands of times a day. Anti-wrinkle injections relax selected muscles so the skin above them creases less, while the rest of your face keeps working as normal.

Done well, nobody should be able to tell you’ve had anti-wrinkle injections in London or anywhere else. You should still be able to frown, smile and raise your eyebrows, just with less etching left behind. That comes down to careful placement and conservative dosing, which is where training matters most.

The areas I treat most often are the forehead, the frown lines between the brows and the crow’s feet around the eyes. If it’s your first time, you might be nervous about the needle. It’s very fine, most people describe it as a quick scratch, and the injections themselves take only a few minutes.

Most people notice a change within a few days, with the full effect at around two weeks. Results usually last three to four months, and I don’t repeat treatment more often than every three months. Downtime is minimal, and most patients go straight back to their day.

Your skin changes in midlife, and injections are only part of the answer

Before you book anti-wrinkle injections in London, it helps to know what they can and can’t do. They work on lines caused by movement. They do far less for lines that are there even when your face is completely still, or for skin that has become thinner, drier or less springy. That kind of change is very common in midlife, and hormones play a bigger part than most people realise.

Skin loses around 30% of its collagen in the first five years after menopause. That isn’t something to feel gloomy about, but it does mean the plan needs to look at more than one line. For some women, that means pairing anti-wrinkle injections with a skin booster such as Profhilo. For others, it means a medical-grade peel, a better skincare routine, or simply daily SPF (I promise it adds up). If you’re in your forties and your skin has changed quickly, it may be telling you something too. I’ve written about the signs that perimenopause has started if that rings a bell.

Sun damage is the other big factor. Years of UV exposure break down collagen and cause pigmentation, and no injection will fix that. That’s why I always look at the surface of your skin as well as the movement underneath, and why daily SPF is part of nearly every plan I write.

This is where being both a GP and a menopause specialist matters. I’m looking at you as a whole person, not only at your forehead.

Who holds the needle matters more than the postcode

Harley Street has a long medical history, and plenty of places offer anti-wrinkle injections in London, but an address isn’t a qualification. Before you book anywhere, find out who will be treating you.

This matters more than many people realise. In the UK, you don’t have to be a doctor or a nurse to give anti-wrinkle injections in London or anywhere else, which surprises most of my patients. Checking someone’s background takes five minutes and can save you months of worry.

I’ve been a doctor for 20 years. I’m a GMC-registered GP with a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Dermatology and advanced training in facial aesthetics. My dermatology background means I look at the health of your skin, not only the lines on it. I’ll tell you if something else, such as rosacea or pigmentation, should be treated first.

Whoever you see for anti-wrinkle injections in London, ask them:

  • What medical qualifications do you hold, and who are you registered with?
  • Which product will you use, and why?
  • What happens if I’m not happy with the result?
  • Who do I contact if I have a problem afterwards?

If you don’t get clear answers, walk away.

It’s also worth knowing what to expect afterwards. The most common side effects are mild redness, a small bruise or a headache, and they usually settle within a day or two. Less often, a brow or eyelid can feel heavy for a few weeks while the product wears off, which is one of the reasons placement matters so much. Whoever provides your anti-wrinkle injections in London should explain these risks before you agree to anything.

Treatment also isn’t right for everyone. I won’t treat you if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, if you have certain neuromuscular conditions, or if there’s an infection where the injections would go. A good practitioner asks about these before they ask how many areas you’d like done.

What happens when you come to see me

Dr Katy Kasraie in consultation with a patient at 10 Harley Street

If you’re thinking about anti-wrinkle injections in London, your first appointment with me is unhurried. We’ll go through your medical history and talk about what bothers you and what you’d like to keep. Then I’ll assess your skin and facial anatomy. After that I’ll give you an honest plan, which sometimes means less treatment than you expected, or none at all. I will never suggest more than you need.

During the assessment, I’ll watch how your face moves when you talk, frown and smile, because everyone’s muscles are a little different. Two people with the same frown line may need quite different doses. I’ll also ask about anything you’ve had done before and how you felt about it, because that tells me a lot about the result you’re hoping for.

If you’re happy to go ahead, some patients have treatment the same day; others prefer to go away and think about it. Either is absolutely fine. A follow-up review after your first treatment is included, so we can check your result and make small adjustments if needed.

On the day, I’ll talk you through aftercare. For the first few hours, I’ll ask you to stay upright and avoid rubbing the treated areas, and to skip strenuous exercise until the next day. It’s simple, and it helps the product settle where it was placed.

One practical tip: before your consultation, take two photos of your face on your phone, one relaxed and one frowning. It makes it much easier to show me exactly what you notice.

Natural results start with knowing when to say no

The best aesthetic doctors are the ones willing to turn treatment down. Good work should make you look rested, not altered. Whoever you choose for anti-wrinkle injections in London, choose someone who looks at your whole face and the health of your skin before reaching for a syringe.

In one unhurried consultation at 10 Harley Street, Dr Katy Kasraie will assess your skin, talk through your goals and every suitable option, including treatments that do not involve injections. No referral needed. Click here to book your appointment.
